1DCutX - Linear Nesting in Excel.
Stock Information (Step 1 of 11).

Stock - is a big piece you want to cut smaller parts from.
Stocks come in standard sizes from suppliers. Stocks are defined by their lengths (sizes), quantities and prices.

Typical spreadsheet with stock information.

Typical columns used in the stock inventory shown on the picture (the actual names do not matter):

  • ID - optional column defines identification of stocks. These IDs will be used in all reports and graphical layout. If this column is not specified then default IDs as 1,2,3, etc. will be used.

  • Length (feet) - mandatory information defines length of available stocks.

  • Quantities - optional column defines the count of stocks. If this column is omitted then 1DCutX assumes unlimited quantity of stocks.

  • Price ($) - optional column defines the price of each stock. If the price is specified then 1DCutX tries to minimize the total cost of the material.

  • Diameters - optional column defines the diameters of linear stocks (tube or pipes). Parts with the specified diameter will be cut only from the stocks with the same diameters.

  • Material Type - optional column defines the material or other type of linear stocks. Parts with the specified material type will be cut only from the stocks with the same material type.
